Who Am I Meant to Meet and Serve Today?

When I was in a training a few years ago, one of the participants shared that she starts her day with the question, "Who am I meant to meet and serve today?" It rang true for me, so I've adopted that same question.

Some days I'm not aware of anyone new coming into my life. Of course, there are the people who are standing in the same line at the bank or grocery store. How am I serving them? With a smile and a hello? or an "I-don't-care attitude?" Do I value them? Do I respect them?

Then I reflect on the people I am serving who are already in my life. How do I talk with and to them? Am I thankful for them? Do I treat them with respect? (Sometimes I feel like I am doing way more for my husband than he is doing for me. And I'm sure the tables get reversed at times. But we are there for each other, or at least try to be. And anyway, relationships aren't 50-50. There are the ups and downs, and the personal or individual challenges. Ah, yes, it's called life.)

Then I think about our pets-the animals in my life, who I certainly serve, and who definitely serve me with unconditional love each and every day. True Blessings.

What about you? Who are you meant to meet and serve today?

I am thankful you are in my life. You are a blessing.
