Throughout the Day I Pause

"Throughout the day I pause to empty my mind of stress
and to invite Spirit to fill my heart."
(Daily Word, Unity, June 10, 2016)
Over the past 11 months I have recited this saying over and over again to myself.
But sometimes I struggle to remind myself to pause and to breathe and to let go of stress and to invite Spirit to fill my heart. Pause......... Breathe..........
Have you found that sometimes it's just not very easy to pause or to empty your mind of stress or to remember to invite Spirit to fill your heart?
Is there something or someone that helps you to pause and to remember?
What helps me is being outside in nature or listening to music that is uplifting.
I also "time travel" to places or moments in time when I have been comforted, loved, and felt such an inner peace. Blessings.
And yet, we are human. So that means we get pulled in many directions not of our own choosing. And then we have to decide how we are going to respond in those moments.
"Even in the most difficult times, the most hectic times
We are embraced by the endless cycles of life around us.
We are held in the palm of peace, if only we look to see it.
I pray a quiet lake in your life,
The scent of rain in the distance."
(excerpt from poem, I Pray A Quiet Lake, by Steven Charleston in his book, Spirit Wheel, Meditations From An Indigenous Elder)
