My Journey

Transformational Coach, Infinite Possibilities Trainer, Author, and Speaker.

It’s only in looking back that I learned my own childhood and the following years in my 20’s led me to my work and my passion. When I was a child there were times of a lot of drama and trauma, and times of being held in love. The succeeding years through my 20’s were filled with making “safe” choices, which weren’t always emotionally healthy, and were certainly not fulfilling. But I was surviving.

I didn’t realize for a long time that my childhood and my 20’s were actually a gift. All the drama and trauma guided me to graduate school.

One day before class I read the Bible story of Joseph, his coat of many colors, and his jealous brothers who sold Joseph into slavery. Joseph survived slavery, and being imprisoned for a crime he did not commit. He was called to interpret Pharoah’s dream. Joseph’s interpretation: there will be seven years of bountiful harvest followed by seven years of famine. During the bountiful years, you will need to store grain to feed all the people in the land. The Pharoah saw that Joseph was right, and so Joseph was put in charge of the grain. During the famine, Joseph’s brothers went to obtain grain. Joseph discloses to them who he is, and says, “What was intended for bad, God has used for good.” I immediately thought, “That’s me. What was intended for bad, God has used for good.” It’s like my eyes opened to the drama and trauma I had experienced, the work I had done and was doing, and the work I would be doing.

Up to that point in time my history included working as a Child Welfare Services social worker, a volunteer in a child sexual abuse treatment program, a crisis intervention counselor, and Executive Director of a parental stress hotline. I was in graduate school to be a Marriage, Family and Child Counselor. I became a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in 1982, and
continued working with women and children.

For about 10 years I worked as a hospital Medical Social Worker. First, in the Birth Center, Pediatrics, and NICU supporting and providing referrals for moms who had a preemie baby or a sick baby, had a miscarriage, whose baby died, experienced domestic violence, used drugs, or were teen moms. Second, in the oncology (cancer) unit and the med-surg unit providing emotional support for ill or dying patients and their families, and also referrals when necessary. I learned a lot about living, having compassion, and treating all people with dignity and respect.

As you can see, my life’s work has been, and continues to be, one of service. I’ve been a mentor, guide, support person, and also a fellow traveler on life’s journey.

All of my personal and work history have laid a strong foundation for my being a Transformational Coach dedicated to supporting each woman in being self-confident; recognizing her own gifts, skills, and talents; valuing herself and her dreams; knowing she has power and using it; and taking action in creating the life she wants to live.

I’ve done, and continue to do, my own internal work of changing my thinking. Being aware of the choices I make. First learning, then knowing, that I want and deserve what is good and right for me. Facing my fears. (and there have been many) Confronting self-doubt. Living my life with courage and joy. Allowing myself to be vulnerable. Expecting good to happen in my life. Having dreams. Building dreams. And Living dreams. I’ll be the first to say, this internal work is challenging. It’s a process, and it is a journey. But it’s helped me to grow in positive ways.

My passion continues to be working with women who want to overcome obstacles, break through their own limiting beliefs, define and achieve their goals, and create and live a life they love living.

I invite you to join me. I look forward to meeting you.

Hugs and Blessings to Your Courageous Self!
