What Is Calling You?

Are you feeling a stirring inside, a yearning to do or to try something new or different?
It can be something big or small. We are always called for more. We are being given the opportunity to grow and change.
Are you listening to what is calling you?
This kind of listening requires you to listen with your heart, which is easier said than done.
Are you being called to be more patient, kind, caring, forgiving, or creative? Perhaps you're being called to volunteer, and share your gifts, skills, and talents. Or perhaps you're being called to set limits and boundaires for your own well-being--to say "no." And maybe you're being called to say, "yes" to an adventure.
Are you listening with your heart? Are you listening to that Still Small Voice?
The world is always clamoring for our attention. And, being human, we have doubts as to what we can do, be, or accomplish. And we doubt what we hear with our heart.
But remember, we are spiritual beings having a human experience. (Teilhard de Chardin)
Most faiths or beliefs have teachings of becoming silent and having a willingness to listen.
I love this little story that I recently read. Susanna Wesley (mother of John and Charles Wesley - the founders of the Methodist movement) would signal her large family when she wanted quiet time or time for prayer by pulling her apron or a blanket over her head.
We all need some quiet time to listen with our heart.
"Throughout the day I pause
to empty my mind of stress,
and to invite Spirit
to fill my heart."
(Unity, Daily Word--many years ago)
May you discover that quiet time, so you can hear what is calling you.
To Your Courageous Self!
