I Imagine Wonderful Possibilities.....

I imagine wonderful possibilites for my life, but.......

Sometimes my imagination takes me down dark holes where the possibilities for my life aren't so wonderful. Why is that? Why does that happen?

I know it's because of doubts, worthiness, limiting beliefs, history of trauma, fear of the unknown, and my Cavewoman ancestors (seriously, but that's for another time).

How about you? Do you imagine wonderful possibilites for yourself in your life?

Or does your imagination take you down some dark holes? Why does that happen for you?

(Don't beat yourself up if you have a lot of scary movie possibilities. It's because of your Cavewoman ancestors, and whatever you have experienced in your life combined with what is going on in the world right now and in your own life.)

I've found that I can go down those dark holes very quickly--almost in a flash.

But to get out of the dark holes, requires more focus and energy on my part.

Any of us can fall down a hole a lot faster than we can climb out of the hole, and sometimes we may need help getting out of the hole.

It's kind of like an inner battle going on inside myself with my own thoughts. You've probably heard the question, "Which wolf are you feeding?" The good/healthy or the bad/unhealthy thoughts.

("The Tale of Two Wolves" is an Indigenous People's tale, which historians typically attribute to the Cherokee.)

Yesterday evening I went down a dark hole, which kept pulling me deeper and deeper into sadness, combined with doubt and fear. I was determined not to be swallowed up by the darkness.

My husband had already gone to bed. It was late.

I went into a quiet room and listened to an uplifting meditation.

I felt the sadness in my body, and then focused on feeling some peace in my body.

Relief. Release.

Letting go of the sadness.

Shifting my focus to thankfulness for what I do have now in my life.

Peace.

Calm.

Coming out of the hole and seeing a sunrise in my mind.

Hope.

Love.

Peace.

Being held in God's love, and I am thankful.

Now, this process of getting out of the hole took me 30 minutes to an hour. To be honest, I lost track of time.

I was aware that I could easily go back down the hole with negative self-talk, doubts, and fear of the future, unless I kept my thoughts focused on thankfulness and being grateful.

At some point I was calm enough and centered in love to be able to go to bed.

I said some prayers. Then fell asleep and slept well.

So, what do you do when you go down dark holes? (Remember: It's a process to get out of dark holes. Be patient with yourself.)

Choose to focus on the Wonderful Possibilities.

There are Infinite Possibilities. Choose the good ones.

An Offering or Opportunity

*Please know that we can all go down dark holes, and even get stuck there for awhile.

In September, I'm offering a couple of free live webinars (about 30-45 minutes each) for women who are ready to get out of dark holes of fear, sadness, overwhelm, anxiety, and "what if" thinking, and begin to Imagine Wonderful Possibilities for yourself and your life.

If any of this resonates with you, or if you know a woman who would appreciate this opportunity, be on the lookout for the webinar announcements.
