Desmond Tutu: "If you are neutral in situations of injustice, you have chosen the side of the oppressor."
Elie Wiesel: "Neutrality helps the oppressor, never the victim."
Howard Zinn: "You can't be neutral on a moving train."
MLK Jr. or Dante Alighieri: "The hottest place in Hell is reserved for those who remain neutral in times of great moral conflict..."
Pastor Martin Niemoller: a Holocaust poem
"First they came for the Communists
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a Communist
Then they came for the Socialists
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a Socialist
Then they came for the Trade Unionists
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a Trade Unionist
Then they came for the Jews
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a Jew
Then they came for me
And there was no one left
To speak out for me."

I can not remain silent.
The US is scary right now. I believe fear is being used to intimidate, manipulate,
and traumatize.
But the intimidation and manipulation are NOT working in Minnesota!
Thank you Minnesotans for your courage and modeling!!
The people being rounded up in the US are not "the worst of the worst."
They are people who are contributing to our society. They are our neighbors.
They are family members. And some are children.
They are people who help to put food on our tables.
They are people who came here for a better life.
The people who have been killed in Minnesota were two white Americans.
I encourage you to learn about Germany in the 1930's.
What do you think?
Waht are your ethics?
What are your moral values?
What is your compass?
May we treat all people the way we want to be treated.
May God Bless us, everyone.
To Your Courageous Self!
