Many of Us Have Forgotten

"We are spiritual beings having a human experience." (Teilhard de Chardin)

Many of us have forgotten we are spiritual beings. That's actually easy to do. The world, and all of its activities and all of our responsibilities, pulls us off course on a daily basis.

But we need to remember that we are spiritual beings. Each and everyone of us is created in God's image. At least that's what "The Good Book" says.

It's also easy to think and believe that people who look different from ourselves, worship differenty, speak another language, have different political views, speak the same language but still sound different, have tattoos, live on the "other side of the tracks," have little to know formal education, are wealthy, have a disability, or have experienced trauma are somehow "lesser" in God's eyes. But is that accurate? What do you think?

I used to not like people who I thought were prejudiced against black people. That included people who had a Southern United States accent. I used to say, "I don't like people who are prejudice." And then, oops! Wait a minute! I realized I was prejudice against people who I thought were prejudiced against black people.

Hmmmm. Time for me to become more aware of others, but more importantly, my own beliefs and thoughts. Time to make some changes.

What about you?

What do you think about other people?

What are your beliefs about other people?

Do you believe we are all created in God's image?

How do you treat yourself?

How do you treat other people?

From one spiritual being to another. Hugs and blessings.
