How Do You Use the Power of Your Mind?

This is an important question: How do you use the power of your mind?
Most of us don't think about the power of our mind. We just go through each day, and the next day, and the day after that, having thousands of thoughts. However, research shows that we do spend a lot of time thinking about what we don't want or what we're afraid might happen.
It's part of that negative brain bias I've written about previously. We can't help ourselves. Or can we? I mean, it's built into our DNA because of our caveman and cave woman ancestors. You know, always on alert for danger in order to stay safe.
And although our world can be scary, we also have the power to decide where we focus our attention. We can start to rewire our brains. We can become aware of our thoughts. We can ask ourselves, "What would I love?"
That little question shifts our thinking to the positive. But we no sooner ask, "What would I love?" when the gremlins, the doubts, the negative thought paradigms start telling us all the reasons why we can't have what we would love.
Our past history, our current circumstances, our health, our relationships, our jobs, our time, our finances can all be used as reasons why we can't have what we would love. But your life does not need to be determined by any of those things, unless you give them the power.
Shift your thinking. Think about it as your car's GPS. You enter your starting point and your destination, where you want to go. And you move in the direction of your destination. You may take detours, but you continue on your journey towards your destination. You move in the direction of where you want to be or what you would love.
I wrote about this previously. When I was in an unhealthy second marriage (that's another story), and said to myself, "I am no longer going to continue living my life this way. I want and deserve what is good and right for me." that was the beginning of my journey to move in the direction of what I would love. I wanted a healthy physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual life.
I used the power of my mind to change my life. Yes, it took time. Yes, it took action on my part. Yes, it took support from a myriad of sources. Am I done? No, I'm still alive! I'm continuing to grow and change, and to create a life I love living.
God gave me this life to be the best person I could be; to live the best life I could.
God gave you this life to be the best person you could be; to live the best life you could.
Don't give up!
What would you love? Turn on your inner GPS. Start moving in the direction of your destination. Perhaps your destination includes better health, supportive relationships, fulfillment, financial resources, relaxation time, or something else.
Start, or if you've already started, continue, on your journey. It takes courage. You're worth it!
