Endings and Beginnings--Sunset and Sunrise August 22, 2024

This childhood memory from an old TV show, Wagon Train, has stuck with me for over 60 years.

An old woman, whom we had gotten to "know" lay dying in her wagon with family by her side. They had stopped traveling for the day and it was near sunset.

Just as the old woman was close to drawing her last breath, we hear a baby cry. It was sunrise.

The old woman had a soft smile and breathed her last, as the baby was drawing its first breaths.

There are many Endings and Beginnings in our lives. And there are many Sunsets and Sunrises in our lives. May God bless us, everyone.
