Today Our Home is Quiet

I don't like our home being this quiet.
It means our son, daughter-in-law, and our two young grandchildren have returned to their home in another country. Too far away.
I miss the hugs, the laughter, the playing, the smiles, the tears, the questions, the learning (for all of us), the conversations, and I miss my daughter-in-law's delicious cooking.
I am thankful for the time we had together this summer. A true blessing.
I am thankful our son and daughter-in-law chose to come here this summer.
I am thankful for our son's and daughter-in-law's love, caring, and support.
I am thankful for Teams (we previously used Skype) now that they have returned to their home. (Teams makes a huge difference to be able to talk AND see each other. We actually get to see our grandchildren growing, and get to interact with them.)
I am thankful that even though we cannot be together physically, we are together in our hearts and minds.
I am grateful for all of the toys, laundry, and general clean-up that are now occupying my time, and bringing joyful memories of our time together.
There is a sadness in the quiet, and there is much love present in our home, if I just pause to feel that love and remember the precious moments.
May God Bless Us, Everyone.
